The WPP comissioned BrandZ report for the Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands 2011 has been released and here is a video documenting the countdown from last to first place.

There has been plenty of movement this year, in particular, from Apple who rose almost 85% on the back of the iPad to become the worlds most valuable brand, while Google managed to lose 2% dropping to second place, with a value just over $110 Billion USD.

Social Memories Facebook Book App

Don’t you just love it when convergence of the real and digital worlds flip right around the other way? Enter the “Social Memories” Facebook Book App, that allows you to automatically generate a 30 page premium book directly from your Facebook updates, friends and the surrounding social interaction. The Facebook Book App also manages to create all sorts of little infographics on the fly, for example it graphs your status updates vs social response, your most active friends and even the distribution of your connections star signs!

It’s not entirely new, last year I posted about another Facebook Book App that pioneered eactly this, but looking back, the newer “Social Memories” app looks a lot better, pretty cool gifting piece.

Orange Twitter Campaign

Last week Aden posted a nice like campaign from Orange ‘Predict-A-Chick‘ and this week they have just launched My Royal Plate which is a fun little campaign that takes advantage of the hype surrounding the pending Royal Wedding. The campaign invites users to Tweet a special un-royal moment that they would like to remember to the hash tag #MyRoyalPlate. The best ones then get turned into plates and posted to the lucky plate creators. This is another part of Orange’s ‘The Feed’ which is a series of internet adventures. I love the fun and creative ideas that Orange are using in these little campaigns. A nice idea from the guys at Poke London.

Heineken Star Player: Live Football Gaming App

Heineken have just launched a multi-platform gaming app called the “Heineken Star Player”, available on mobile (iPhone only for the moment) and Facebook, with the game placing you at the centre of every UEFA Champions League match, where you can take on friends and indeed the world, as you make big calls for points and prizes, while the game is played on TV.

The app is synced live with each UEFA game, allowing it to challenge you with decisions as they happen, like penalty kicks… Will he score and where top left? Bottom right? This app puts what you are thinking into the palm of your hand, to play against the world. With approximately 86% of people who use mobile Internet, using their phones while watching TV, it’s easy to see the potential success of an app like this, and makes it a very powerful tool for Heineken. Created by AKQA.

Is this the type of app that will de-throne Fantasy Football the world over? Not sure, but I do love it!
This style of real-world digital integration is set to become a gold mine over the next year.
