Top 100 Most Valuable Brands 2011

The WPP comissioned BrandZ report for the Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands 2011 has been released and here is a video documenting the countdown from last to first place.

There has been plenty of movement this year, in particular, from Apple who rose almost 85% on the back of the iPad to become the worlds most valuable brand, while Google managed to lose 2% dropping to second place, with a value just over $110 Billion USD.

For those who are interested in a little more than just the Top 100 Most Valuable Brands for 2011, the report breaks everything down by industry and region, while also providing some interesting opinion from industry leaders along the way.

Facebook vs Twitter

What a year it’s been in the land of social, and in particular, Facebook & Twitter. I won’t bore you with the 1000 statistics every one of you already knows about the growth of Facebook and Twitter this year, but I will show you this nice little infographic from Digital Surgeons, showcasing the breakdown of the 2010 social demographics on Facebook and Twitter, ready for a huge 2011.

At first glance there isn’t a lot in this, but I think it’s interesting t note that 67% of people on Twitter follow a brand (that they will purchase) in comparison to only 51% on Facebook, yet on Facebook 40% of all people follow a brand in comparison to Twitter’s 25%.

“Beach Park” promote the leading waterpark in Brazil has to be one of the most engaging emails I’ve ever opened!While I’m not sure this concept is email friendly, it does however completely engage you while doing a decent job of creating a virtual experience from within a standard email. A very interesting idea. What do you all think of the concept?
